Plots that don’t make sense

The family patriarch just decides the succession without really considering the pros and cons of each option. Second are plot holes that exist for a similar reason, to drive the plot forward. The station is supposed to be the size of Belgium, but it is family run (initially 4 members, later expanded to a bit more) and the crew seems to be the backbone.
